Why is everyone acting so surprised? After years of ineffective leadership the Palestinian people have finally thrown their hads in the air and said screw it, let's give the terrorists a chance! History shows people are often willing to elect extreme elements into leadership roles out of desperation. But this is an ominous sign of the mindset of the Palestinians. To me it seems they're voting for more of the same, it's just that now they can legitimize the extreme element of their society. And to be sure, it won't be long before the idiots in UN officially recognize Hamas' governmental role much to the chagrin of the USA and some European nations.
